In the last 2500 years of the history of humanity has been a curious phenomenon that is always linked to the degree of cultural development of civilizations. We refer to the Cultural Hedonism closely linked to the art of Good Living. The Hedonism occur when any individual in isolation and feel a special pleasure to smell special product is food, cosmetic, fragrance … but Hedonism Cultural occurs when the individual is associated to learn, share and experiment with olfactory sensations pleasant or unpleasant. Obviously this hedonism Cultural Evolution has a very relative importance, but it is another indicator of the degree of sophistication of a society.

Currently in our civilization, the importance we give to all the senses is high, even being discriminatory. So our camouflage smells colonies, perfumes, deodorants, air fresheners smell nice … cause reactions in toys, candy, vehicles and even on printed paper. Needless to say, the importance of the smells of food in the world for agricultural producers, manufacturers, agents, designers … but are especially restaurateurs are creating a line of olfactory experiences unimaginable a few years ago and unpredictable to know where we take.

Moreover, a future that is already almost present olfactory sensations perceptions are important part in games and virtual reality programs currently in development. Any information about an olfactory experience that is stored along with other associated data such as visual, taste, touch or any other good experiences are pleasant or unpleasant. Thanks to the tenacity of the artist Ernesto Ventos “Man smelling color confused” and that in the absence of music and text has created scents as a description of images of his works, the concept NASEVO is a reality. “The appetite is the Smell and Taste Excitement is what the art” in this exhibition we combine the two NASEVO emotions around Smell and Art.
