How the surgery is performed<\/h3>\n

The Z-plasty technique is a method of moving a scar<\/strong> from one area to another, usually in a natural fold of the skin to minimize its visibility. Although the Z-technique does not completely remove the scar, it makes it less visible.
\nWith dermabrasion and laser, it is possible to remove the scar<\/strong> bump, removing part of the layers of the skin with a scraper or with the laser beam. As with all scars, it is not removed but becomes less visible.
\nKeloids and hypertrophic scars<\/strong> are first treated with local injections of corticosteroids to reduce their size. If this method is not satisfactory, the scars are surgically removed, and the incisions are closed with fine sutures resulting in less visibility.<\/p>\n

What to expect after surgery<\/h3>\n

Swelling, bruising, and redness are usually unavoidable. It is very important to follow the surgeon’s instructions. Although the suture is removed within a few days of surgery, your skin needs time to heal.<\/p>\n
